George III Secretaire Bureau Georgian Mahogany Bookcase Desk Chest
A rare and impressive George III period mahogany secretaire desk.
The fall flap with ebony strung satinwood borders enclosed writing surface and fitted interior comprising shallow graduated miniature drawers, cubby holes and cupboard enclosed more miniature drawers and inkwells.
Fitted three long graduated drawers below mounted with dovetailed jointing and papered interiors. Raised on a carved apron cutaway plinth base.
The mahogany boasting a well figured flamed grain and rich patina. Some historic woodworm to back of the piece – no longer active.
